CHILDREN MEDICAL CAMP - IDUKKI
Otrho Deformity and Cardiac screening camp for Children was conducted at Fathima Matha parish hall , Thadiyampadu , Idukki. By ASK in association with Green valley development society (Initiative of Kottayam Diocese.). Programme was inaugurated by Mar Mathew moolakattil bishop of Kottayam Dioceses. 28 children attended the camp. Dr Sajan Koshy, Senior consultant, Pediatric cardio thoracic surgery and Dr Benjamin Joseph, Senior consultant, Pediatric orthopedics led a team of Doctors. Ten children were identified and offered surgery at subsidized cost supported by ASK.
SECOND SCREENING CAMP ASK - MANGALAM
ASK associated with a leading Malayalam news daily “Mangalam” to launch a treatment support programme “ Karunya Sparsham”. Managlam News daily thorough its 5 different publications promoted the campaign. The applications from across the state was screened by the newspapers offices located across the state for there socio economic status. Eligible candidates were invited to attend medical camps conducted by the specialist doctors at ASTER Medcity , Kochi. 102 children were screened in 3 different medical camps. 31 Children requiring treatment were identified and offered treatment at one- fourth of the cost. This included cardiac surgeries, cleft palate repairs, orthopedic deformity corrections, hearing aids and other surgical interventions.
ASK CAMP FOR ORPHAN- CAPEMAUM ORPHANAGE-ERNAKULAM
ASK conducted a medical camp at Caperhnam orphanage run by Caperhnam charitable trust for destitutes and differently abled children. Dr Alexander Chacko led a team including Pediatricians, Nurses , occupational therapist and ASK volunteers. 55 children were screened and offered treatment and medications.
